Winter Botany Hike

February 17, 2019

Fern Ridge Bog Preserve

Blakeslee, PA

Identifying plants during the winter can be challenging.  Join Sandcut Outdoors to learn some easily recognized field characters needed to identify some of our more common plants during this difficult time of year.

The approximately 2 mile hike will be held at the Nature Conservancy’s Fern Ridge Bog Preserve in Blakeslee, PA and will run from 11 am to 1 pm.  Dress for an extended outdoor exposure including hat, gloves and sturdy boots or shoes for walking on snowy, slippery, and uneven terrain.

Due to the fact that this event may be cancelled due to severe weather or excessively deep snow conditions, registration is required.  This walk is free of charge.  To register, contact The Nature Conservancy at 570-643-7922, ext. 320. Leave your name, phone number and the number of people who will be attending.

Note - This walk location may be changed to the Thomas Darling Preserve if site conditions are unfavorable.
